Rover Pauldrons

The Rover Pauldrons are the chest piece of the Rover set in Minecraft Dungeons II, the unique variant of the Nomad armor family. They are medium-weight armor tuned for the Fighter archetype, with flavor text describing a protective chestplate with thick pauldrons built to deflect ranged attacks.

Ranged defense effect

Unlike most unique armor pieces, the Pauldrons carry two defensive bonuses. First, they grant a 25% chance to deflect enemy projectiles outright — one in four incoming arrows and bolts simply bounces off. Second, they reduce all ranged damage taken by 10%, softening the shots that do land. Because every armor piece in Dungeons II shares the same base health, these two bonuses are the Pauldrons' entire identity, making them a purely defensive chest option.

Builds and playstyle

The Pauldrons suit fighters who push into open ground where archers and ranged mobs punish aggression. The deflect chance rewards aggressive positioning, while the flat 10% ranged reduction helps in any encounter heavy on projectiles. The piece has not yet been ranked on the armor tier list, and no featured builds currently run it. For full-set synergy, wear it with the other Rover pieces — Rover Gaiters, Rover Sabatons, and Rover Visor — to combine projectile defense with the set's crowd-control and mobility bonuses.

How to get them

Rover Pauldrons drop as the unique roll of the Nomad Chestplate — any Nomad Chestplate drop can come out as this unique piece instead. They are region drops found in the Frozen Highlands and Singer's Meadow, so farming those regions (or their minecart stations) is the way to hunt them. Anyone already wearing the regular Nomad Chestplate can treat the Pauldrons as the direct anti-ranged upgrade.
