The Pat Your Friends update (July 12, 2026) added social interaction to multiplayer: players can now pat each other's cats, and even open friends' chests for them.
Changes
- Players can now pat their friends' cats, and their own. Patting can be disabled in the multiplayer settings.
- Opening chests for others now shows feedback, so players know whom to thank.
- Players can open a friend's emote chests: it costs 1000 clicks for the opener and is free for the friend; both players must be on the updated version.
- Added the Cat Randomizer, which manually randomizes cosmetics via the dice button in the inventory.
- Hovering over other cats now shows their names without needing to focus Bongo Cat first, and emotes returned to singleplayer.
- Quality of life: rotate and flip friends with R and F while hovering over them; right-clicking other cats makes them briefly transparent, with flip/rotate/scale options on their label; presets moved to their own window and inventory settings made accessible from the inventory.
