FAQ

Is CONTROL Resonant really 30 hours? Around 30 hours for the main story was a single hands-on impression from Summer Game Fest 2026, not an official figure. Remedy has called it the biggest game it has ever made, and no published length has been confirmed.

Will it take longer than Control? Very likely. The first Control ran most players 12–15 hours for its story. A 30-hour main path would make Resonant roughly twice as long, consistent with Remedy calling it their biggest game.

How Long Is CONTROL Resonant?

The launch-window answer — 20–30 hours for the story, 30–40 hours for full completion, per PowerPyx's quest guide — is measured against the shipped game, not a preview build. The pre-launch figure in circulation (roughly 30 hours story / 50+ completionist) came from a single Summer Game Fest hands-on and ran high; the structure behind the new numbers is now known — 16 main missions across three questlines, six zone Resonants, and a side-story layer.

Why the Numbers Could Move

Three structural reasons to expect variance. First, the game is explicitly open-ended — an RPG structure where players choose their path means two players can have wildly different run lengths. Second, Remedy's history: the first Control was officially modest but its collectible-heavy Oldest House kept completionists busy well past the credits. Third, preview builds are rarely final — content balance changes between a June demo and a September launch.

What Counts Toward Completion?

Known now: the 16 main missions, the five Dimensional Faults, the six zone Resonants and the Hedron, and a side-story roster spanning intern tasks to research chains. The honest completion map is the 49-achievement list — its rarity curve shows exactly where the extra hours live. A New Game Plus run adds replays on top without resetting the kit.
