Swirling Enchantment

Swirling is an offensive enchantment that works on both melee and ranged weapons. Every attack releases a swirl of air that slashes through nearby enemies for bonus weapon damage, giving weapons a built-in area-of-effect punch that clears packs without any extra input. The effect recharges on a 0.75 second cooldown.

Its damage scales hard with rank. Tier I adds a swirl dealing an extra 50% of weapon damage, Tier II lifts it to 75%, and Tier III reaches a full 100% of weapon damage — the biggest flat wave of its kind at top tier. A Unique variant called Tornado changes the rhythm entirely: Swirling deals 60% of melee weapon damage with every single attack instead of firing on the cooldown, making it a constant whirlwind for melee swingers.

Both melee bruisers and ranged clear builds benefit, and its dual-weapon compatibility makes it one of the most flexible damage enchantments in the game. Players comparing options should look at Lightning Surge, which adds a weakening status effect, or Soul Blast Enchantment for damage over time; Thundering Enchantment is the chance-based alternative for spreading lightning.

The book drops from the general enchantment book pool, and the Enchantsmith applies and upgrades it at his stall in Wading Rainy Plains. Costs follow the standard ladder: 3 enchantment points plus 1 Echo Shard for Tier I, 5 points plus 1 shard for Tier II, and 7 points plus 1 shard for Tier III, totaling 15 points and 3 shards for a maxed-out Swirling. Disenchanting is free and refunds the points, but not the shards.
