Hero Skins

Hero skins are how you customize your hero's appearance in Minecraft Dungeons II. The game includes 28 skins in total: 21 that every player can use from the start, four tied to the Deluxe Edition, two pre-order bonuses, and one extra unlock. Every brand-new hero begins wearing Valorie, the default skin, and you can switch to any skin you own whenever you like.
How skins work
Skins change how your hero looks and nothing else. Putting on a different skin does not alter your stats, damage, health, movement speed, roll cooldown, or any effect on your gear — a hero in the fanciest outfit hits exactly as hard as a hero wearing the default Valorie. Because skins are purely visual, there is no wrong choice and no build decision attached: pick whichever look you enjoy.
Skins pair freely with the game's other cosmetics. Capes and pets, which follow or drape around your hero rather than replacing their appearance, sit in a separate cosmetic system covered on the Capes & Pets page. A skin, a cape, and a pet can all be worn at the same time, so the three systems together give you plenty of room to make your hero your own. In Minecraft Dungeons II Multiplayer Guide sessions, your skin is also how other players recognize you at a glance, which is the one place where the choice has a practical, if still cosmetic, payoff.
Skins available to everyone
The bulk of the roster — 21 of the 28 skins — is open to every player from the beginning, no special edition or purchase required. These cover a wide range of looks and characters: Esperanza, Greta, Darian, Eshe, Violet, Nuru, Qamar, Kellen, Flores, Ren, Javier, Edson, Tula, Pim, Raven, Stella, Riggs, Gaston, Gubbis, and Mats, alongside the default Valorie. Between them, most players will find several favorites without needing anything beyond the base game, and since skins never affect gameplay, the full visual variety is genuinely free.
Deluxe Edition skins
Four skins belong to the Deluxe Edition (see Minecraft Dungeons II Editions for the full contents of each edition): Fancy Valorie, Fancy Flores, Fancy Ren, and Fancy Kellen. Each one is a dressed-up variant of a skin that already exists in the free roster — Valorie, Flores, Ren, and Kellen all have plain versions available to everyone, and the Fancy versions are their more elaborate counterparts. If you own the Deluxe Edition, these four unlock alongside the rest of your edition bonuses.
Pre-order and other unlocks
Two more skins come from pre-ordering the game: Adventure Steve and Adventure Alex. Their names nod to the classic player characters, and they were available as a bonus for players who committed before launch.
The last entry on the roster, Pizza Cook, sits in its own "other unlocks" category — separate from the free roster, the Deluxe Edition, and the pre-order pair. It is a single standalone skin with its own unlock path rather than part of any bundle.

Because skins are cosmetic only, the list above is complete as a gameplay matter too: there are no hidden skins with stat bonuses to miss, and nothing here will change how a run plays out. If you want to go further with your hero's look, the next stop is Capes & Pets, where capes and pets add another layer of personalization on top of whichever skin you choose.
