Deflection (Status)

Deflection is a positive status that turns you into a walking shield against ranged attacks. While it is active, all projectiles fired at you are deflected instead of hitting, neutralizing archers, spellcasters and other ranged threats for the duration.

The documented source is the Echo Ocarina, a gear piece that grants the status when used. No enchantment is listed as applying Deflection, so the ocarina is the only known way for players to trigger it.

Deflection is a defensive powerhouse in areas heavy with ranged enemies — skeletons, witches, evokers and their soul-corrupted variants all become far less threatening while it lasts. It pairs well with other defensive buffs: Fortifying reduces the damage you do take, and Invulnerable from the Warding Chimes makes you immune entirely. Where Deflection really earns its slot is against projectile-heavy boss fights, where dodging every shot would otherwise cost you damage uptime. Pop the ocarina and walk straight through volleys that would pin down other players.
