Resumen
This official Age of Empires II custom scenario recreates the Battle of Ayn Jalut as an opening defense followed by a counterattack. Fortaleza Baybars mobile while the allied relief timer runs, secure the captured village, and use its Centro urbano, Monasterio, Mercado, and Castillo to prepare the army.
Scenario details
Ayn Jalut is an official custom scenario distributed separately from the estándar campaign list. It opens with a defensive engagement and a fifteen-minute wait for allied reinforcements. Baybars can kite enemy groups toward a prepared position while the player takes control of the village and builds a compact economía under a 100-population cap. (Definitive Edition)
Player approach
The first phase is acerca de surviving efficiently, not chasing every opponent. Use Baybars to draw enemies into a position where the rest of the army can enfoque them. Once the immediate threat is gone, capture the village infrastructure and grow the army while the allied reinforcement timer continues.
Step-by-step plan
Fortaleza Baybars moving and kite pursuers toward the northern Castillo when needed, while the remaining troops eliminate threats. After securing the village, take control of its Centro urbano, Monasterio, Mercado, and Castillo. Add Villagers to a compact resource base, gather the plentiful Oveja and Gazelles, and spend comida on Mamelukes and useful upgrades. Monks can heal the army during the wait; then regroup with the arriving allies for the counterattack. (unidades, Castillo, Centro urbano, Monasterio, Mercado, Castillo, Oveja)
Risks and adjustments
The 100-population cap makes excess Villagers costly, and the scenario only allows construction of Farms and resource drop sites, so the captured village infrastructure is essential. Do not pull every defender away to raid; leaving the village exposed can undo the economic advantage you just gained. (límite de población, Aldeano)
Focused strategy página
Kite with Baybars, secure the village and its four core edificios, then use Oveja and Gazelles to fund Mamelukes and upgrades. Hold until the allied timer completes, heal with Monks, and counterattack with a regrouped army. (Ayn Jalut Baybars and Mameluco counterattack)
