Weekly objective and expiration
Weekly Missions were added to CS2 in the May 7, 2025 update. The game presents a mission through its menus, and the mission has a limited completion period. The cited update describes a seven-day expiration and XP rewards; the exact objective and amount depend on the mission shown. A partially completed task may still provide proportional XP under the documented rules.
Objectives can ask the player to participate in a mode or perform an in-game task. Read the mission text for the applicable mode and completion condition. A mission is not a permanent challenge list, and an expired objective should not be treated as available for a later week. Dated update notes explain changes to the mission system.
XP and account progression
Completing a Weekly Mission grants XP toward Profile Rank. This progression is separate from CS Rating, which belongs to Premier match results. Weekly Missions therefore connect task completion to account progression without directly changing a competitive rating or weapon.
The mission system also interacts with XP Overload, which can affect the rate at which XP is earned after sustained progression. Check the current in-game indicators for account XP state. Prime Status, Weekly Care Packages and missions are related account systems, but each has a separate purpose and eligibility rule.
CS2 applicability
This article covers Weekly Missions introduced for Counter-Strike 2 in May 2025 and their connection to account XP. It excludes operation mission systems from earlier releases, whose objectives and reward rules were different. Current mission availability and exact rewards should be read from the active CS2 mission card.
