Setting name and purpose
In the August 31, 2023 Limited Test update, the setting labeled “Secondary Fire Hold” was replaced with “Zoom Button Hold.” The new label makes the setting’s zoom-button purpose explicit for weapons with an alternate zoom action. The patch identifies a setting-name change; it does not publish new default values or say that alternate fire was removed from other weapons.
Control labels can change between CS2 versions. Consult the current in-game Controls page for the options available in the installed build. See AWP and SSG 08 for scoped weapons whose zoom behavior is relevant.
Secondary Fire Hold label (July 17, 2023)
The July 17, 2023 Limited Test update added the “Secondary Fire Hold” option to the input settings menu. On August 31, 2023, the setting label changed to “Zoom Button Hold.” The dated labels clarify the control’s history; players should follow the current CS2 menu wording and binding rather than assume the beta label is still displayed.
