Model & identity
The Kukri Knife is one of the knife models in the CS2 inventory. A large forward-curving blade with a pronounced inward curve toward the tip. Its kukri profile is visibly different from straight and folding knives. It is a CS2 melee cosmetic model with its own presentation and finish compatibility. The player sees the selected model when holding and inspecting the knife; other players can also see its equipped appearance in match situations where the model is visible.
The knife type and the weapon finish are separate parts of the item. A knife model determines the blade and handle form, while an eligible finish determines the surface pattern or color. A finish does not convert the knife into a different model, and a visually rare finish does not improve its performance.
Role in a match
The Kukri Knife occupies the melee weapon slot and provides the standard knife actions available in CS2. Players may switch to it when they need a melee option or when moving without a firearm is appropriate under the game’s movement rules. It has no unique tactical ability tied to this cosmetic model. The player must still consider nearby opponents and choose whether to keep a firearm ready.
Knife attacks are close-range actions and expose the user if an opponent has a gun ready. The equipped model does not replace positioning, movement or a team’s objective. The Stock Knife explains the default equipment; this entry describes the selected visual variant.
Finishes & inventory
Compatible finishes can change the Kukri Knife’s visible blade or handle surfaces. The exact finish pool depends on item and container releases, so availability should be documented with the relevant CS2 Weapon Cases, Collections or update entry rather than assumed from the knife’s name.
The knife can be inspected and equipped through the CS2 inventory and loadout interface. An inspect animation presents the model but does not change its match statistics. A weapon finish or knife model is part of item customization and does not affect the AK-47, M4A4 or other firearms in the player’s inventory.
CS2 applicability
This entry covers the Kukri Knife model in Counter-Strike 2. Its current cosmetic availability depends on the item pool and updates; no market price or case drop is treated as permanent. The visual profile described here identifies the model and separates it from the shared melee role.
CS2 release and Kukri design
The Kukri Knife is a Counter-Strike 2 cosmetic knife added on February 6, 2024, with the A Call to Arms update. It is a CS2-era item rather than a returning knife model carried forward from the older game inventory. The Wiki identifies its visual reference as the Elite Tactical Kukri Machete, with the forward-curving blade that distinguishes a kukri from the straight Paracord Knife or the broad Bowie Knife.
The knife is cosmetic only and shares the default Stock Knife performance. Both teams can use the same slash and stab actions; the curved blade does not gain a special attack or longer reach. Its HUD and model files were present in the Counter-Strike 2 Beta, while the item became available with the February 2024 update.
Kilowatt Case and appearance
The Wiki lists the Kilowatt Case as the Kukri Knife’s rare special item source. A case is a container, not a requirement to equip the knife after it has entered the inventory; select the model through the loadout. The case’s contents are an item-pool fact and may change with updates.
Compatible finishes alter the Kukri’s visible surface. Wear describes its appearance condition, and Pattern Index distinguishes layouts for finishes that use pattern variation. These inventory details remain separate from melee behavior. Compare the Kukri with the Survival Knife, Bowie Knife and Stock Knife for a fixed-blade look with the same shared combat role.
Deploy and quick-inspect animations (August 14, 2025)
On August 14, 2025, Counter-Strike 2 improved deploy and quick-inspect animations for all knives. The patch describes a shared animation update across the knife category; it does not identify a unique pose, timing value or motion change for this individual model. The change concerns how a knife is drawn and quickly inspected in first person, rather than its attack damage, reach, movement speed or cosmetic finish. The same update separately modified the Sawed-Off and several named firearms, whose animation changes are documented on their own pages.
