Model & identity
The Paracord Knife is one of the knife models in the CS2 inventory. A fixed survival-style blade with a cord-wrapped handle. The wrapped handle and utilitarian blade shape define its appearance. A weapon finish customizes the knife model without adding an ability or changing its equipment slot. The player sees the selected model when holding and inspecting the knife; other players can also see its equipped appearance in match situations where the model is visible.
The knife type and the weapon finish are separate parts of the item. A knife model determines the blade and handle form, while an eligible finish determines the surface pattern or color. A finish does not convert the knife into a different model, and a visually rare finish does not improve its performance.
Role in a match
The Paracord Knife occupies the melee weapon slot and provides the standard knife actions available in CS2. Players may switch to it when they need a melee option or when moving without a firearm is appropriate under the game’s movement rules. It has no unique tactical ability tied to this cosmetic model. The player must still consider nearby opponents and choose whether to keep a firearm ready.
Knife attacks are close-range actions and expose the user if an opponent has a gun ready. The equipped model does not replace positioning, movement or a team’s objective. The Stock Knife explains the default equipment; this entry describes the selected visual variant.
Finishes & inventory
Compatible finishes can change the Paracord Knife’s visible blade or handle surfaces. The exact finish pool depends on item and container releases, so availability should be documented with the relevant CS2 Weapon Cases, Collections or update entry rather than assumed from the knife’s name.
The knife can be inspected and equipped through the CS2 inventory and loadout interface. An inspect animation presents the model but does not change its match statistics. A weapon finish or knife model is part of item customization and does not affect the AK-47, M4A4 or other firearms in the player’s inventory.
CS2 applicability
This entry covers the Paracord Knife model in Counter-Strike 2. Its current cosmetic availability depends on the item pool and updates; no market price or case drop is treated as permanent. The visual profile described here identifies the model and separates it from the shared melee role.
Fixed-blade survival-tool design
The Paracord Knife is presented as a fixed-blade survival knife. Its handle is wrapped in a length of multipurpose paracord, and the official description associates the form with tasks such as setting traps, hunting and cutting foliage. These are design cues for the item’s field-tool theme; Counter-Strike 2 does not add a trap-setting or hunting interaction to the knife.
The Wiki traces the visual model to Linton Cutlery Seal Tactical knives. The cord wrap and straight fixed blade distinguish its silhouette from the curved Gut Knife, folding Navaja Knife and other cosmetic variants. In CS2 it keeps the shared Stock Knife slash and stab behavior, and the material finish can change its surface appearance without changing its melee role.
CS2 item and finish relationship
The Paracord Knife is a Rare Special cosmetic item associated with the Shattered Web Case in the retrieved Wiki record. Treat that as an item-pool record rather than a promise about current case contents. Once owned, the knife is selected through the CS2 loadout; compatible finishes are attached to the knife model and remain separate inventory attributes.
In CS2, the item is selected through the inventory loadout and shown as the active melee model. The model does not have a unique attack, extra utility slot or survival-tool mode; it differs from the Survival Knife by its appearance and item identity.
Missing deploy animation (April 2, 2026)
The April 2, 2026 beta patch fixed a missing deploy animation for the Paracord Knife. The note records restoration of that animation and gives no further detail about its duration, input timing or inspect sequence. It does not imply a change to the knife’s gameplay behavior.
Deploy and quick-inspect animations (August 14, 2025)
On August 14, 2025, Counter-Strike 2 improved deploy and quick-inspect animations for all knives. The patch describes a shared animation update across the knife category; it does not identify a unique pose, timing value or motion change for this individual model. The change concerns how a knife is drawn and quickly inspected in first person, rather than its attack damage, reach, movement speed or cosmetic finish. The same update separately modified the Sawed-Off and several named firearms, whose animation changes are documented on their own pages.
