People have long wondered what follows death — whether any afterlife awaits. For the vrakhiri there is one, though far from welcoming. It is called Anachora.
When a vrakhir is killed by one of their own kind, the slayer can choose to absorb the victim's soul and carry the dead spirit within. Should the killer refuse, the victim's soul remains imprisoned in Anachora.
From there, there is no return. The dead are doomed to roam the cursed plains eternally, forever observed by something — an unnamed presence concealed behind the clouds, whose gaze bores into vrakhir souls the way fangs pierce flesh. Who is it? And what is it after?
