Overview
Crina is another neighbour from Laslea. She appears older than her years — partly from long seasons of farm labour, and also because tragedy struck her: Kvet, her only grandson, died suddenly of what looked like a trifling scratch, which festered into a mortal wound. Crina's life collapsed afterwards. Coen recognises her grief and wishes he could ease it, though he hardly knows how.
