Overview
Vale Sangora, Coen's home, is a hidden dale among the Carpathian peaks with a turbulent past of conquest and changing masters — Moravians, Kievan Rus, the Serbian Voivodeship at various times; Hungarians, Mongols and Tatars as plunderers. In the decades before Brencis, the Dragosti family dominated it through fear.
Under Brencis the valley is severed from all beyond its borders: bridges demolished, mountain passes sealed, leaving scarcely any way in or out.
