Overview
Xanthe is the eldest vrakhir of Brencis's court — older than the knyaz himself. Where the others trust chiefly to claw and fang, Xanthe tampers with her enemies' minds instead; she is said to shatter sanity in a heartbeat, or set blood bubbling from your ears.
In Brencis's grand design she handles the making of blood guards from soldiers. The method stays shrouded, but it centers on a dark ritual with no undoing.
