Overview
Zdislav serves as alderman of Laslea, Coen's village — never an easy post, and harder since Brencis's takeover. Some villagers quietly oppose the vrakhiri; others submit to their monstrous overlords willingly. Day after day Zdislav labors to keep the two camps from tearing at each other's throats. His own views? He surely has them, but to this day he remains inscrutable.
