Most activities award Experience Points, and gathering enough earns a Level Up. Each level grants Skill Points, redeemable for new Perks at Shrines, where most perks come in multiple levels.
Each level of a perk carries its own effect and Skill Point cost, and learning advanced perks also progresses Time. Some perks first require reading a Manual before they can be learned — manuals are found by exploring the world.
