Dalyan’s Tale

This tattered old tale tells of Dalyan, a shepherd who got lost searching for his sheep and was gone so long his family mourned him and his friends all but forgot him. Then he returned, flowers in his hair and a sack heavy with delicacies on his back.

He claimed to have stumbled upon the Eternal Pass, a land flowing with milk and honey where people lack for nothing and live in comfort from birth until death — wonders granted by a Goddess so radiant with love that whoever beheld her wept tears of joy, a place open to all. But when his kin begged him to show them the way, the noble shepherd looked and looked, and never found it again.
