Father Florin's Notes

Father Florin writes that desperate times push a man to surprising choices: the ruins his flock found are plainly pagan in origin, and he can only imagine the depraved rites once held there — yet if scouring them can reveal a way to defeat the Adversary, then so be it.

Danos led his brave men into parts of the maze; many never returned from the abyss, except one, who spoke before dying of ravenous shadows and restless ghosts waiting for fools who disturb their slumber. Yet he confirmed Florin's suspicion: the ruins had housed ancient pagan warlords — 'heroes', perhaps.

Some paintings show a man in impressive armour; a champion so protected, with Our Lord's blessing, could stand against the vrakhiri as an equal and restore God's peace to the Vale. Florin is certain the armour remains hidden in the darkness, awaiting a champion bold enough to take it — and he will wait too, praying for a worthy warrior to be sent forth.
