Letter From Florin

Florin insists God marked the recipient out for a higher purpose than their present schemes, and begs them once more to meet him in the Cathedral for worthier work.

Refusal, he warns, would be unwise: he knows every secret — petty faults and grave sins alike, deeds kept even from their wife, acts that would set their children against them — and absolution lies in doing God's work.
