Lizard Hunter's Note

Lizard hides sell for life-changing sums, most of all if they land the giant, and Erden has spent days studying the pack's hunts.

Most are just oversized lizards — but the presumed brood mother differs: she sprang upon a wolf and all but pulped it, squashing flat whatever lay by her touchdown point.

The note closes inviting readers to join the hunters afield — with a caution that the slimy brutes hide beneath the mud.
