Note about the Miller's Ring

It took effort and a flexible spine to get the ring, the writer boasts — snatched just before Boyar Bakir's men could seize it, making this a time-sensitive job.

So the buyer owes twice the settled sum; the writer regrets the surcharge but sacrificed working hours. Even so — the band is exquisite: let the buyer's sweetheart but glimpse it and she'll fly to his arms at the altar rail.

How the miller came by such a piece remains a mystery worth pondering. The writer awaits payment — and wedding news.
