Poison Weeds

with its splendid purple flowers, simple to spot and avoid — but the roots, not the flowers, are what help

against beasts. Black hellebore blended with lard or honey offers a simple way to eliminate

dangerous animals. Henbane's off-putting smell can serve as a poison for predators,

though the scent must be masked with something appetising.
