Rimefrost Icecap

The Rimefrost Icecap is the head piece of the Rimefrost set in Minecraft Dungeons II, the unique variant of the Steel Wool armor family. It is a medium-weight helmet tuned for the Tank + Mage archetype, and its flavor text describes it as an ice-cold cap that keeps the wearer cool in dangerous situations.

Cryomancer effect

The Icecap's unique effect is called Cryomancer: while wearing it, all of your frost attacks deal 30% more damage. The bonus applies directly to frost-element damage, so it scales with whatever frost weapons, abilities, and enchantments you bring into a run. Because every armor piece in Dungeons II shares the same base health, this damage multiplier is the entire reason to wear the Icecap over a regular helmet.

Builds and playstyle

Cryomancer is built for frost mages and hybrid tank-mage setups. If your loadout leans on frost damage — chilled weapons, frost-imbued abilities, or enchantments that deal cold damage — the flat 30% increase is a straightforward damage boost with no activation condition. It pairs naturally with the rest of the Rimefrost set: Rimefrost Armor, Rimefrost Longjohns, and Rimefrost Plodders, which extend the set's frost theme across all four slots. It has not yet appeared on the tier list, so its competitive standing is still unranked.

How to get it

The Rimefrost Icecap drops as the unique roll of the Steel Wool Cap — any Steel Wool Cap drop has a chance to come out as this unique piece instead. It is a region drop found in the Frozen Highlands and Humbler Huskland, so farming those regions (or their minecart stations) is the way to hunt it. If you already run the regular Steel Wool Cap, the Icecap is a direct upgrade for any frost-focused build.
