FAQ

When does fast travel unlock in CONTROL Resonant? After the fight with The Artist, the prologue's Resonant boss. As players begin exploring Central, the game introduces the Fast Travel Doors — the open-world mechanics rollout starts there.

Can I fast travel from the map menu? No. Fast travel only works door-to-door: players have to physically interact with an unlocked Fast Travel Door and pick their destination there. The map shows every door as a door icon, revealed or not, but it will not teleport you.

How many Fast Travel Doors are there? 32 across the whole map, per PowerPyx's location guide. Doors get marked on the map as players approach them, and each zone holds more than one — so scout before pushing the story forward.

When Does Fast Travel Unlock?

After The Artist. The prologue runs linear through the Oldest House, and once players beat its Resonant boss and start exploring Central, the game introduces its open-world mechanics — the Fast Travel Doors among them. In other words: it cannot be missed, and it cannot be gotten early. The enemy roster fought on the way is the same Resonant-gated structure the ability choices hang on.

How Do Fast Travel Doors Work?

  • Door-to-door, and only door-to-door. Doors show on the map as a door icon whether revealed or not — you always know where the next one is.
  • Interact by holding the button on screen to unlock a door permanently.
  • Once a second door is unlocked, travel between it and the first (and vice versa) works.
  • No menu teleport — you actually need to interact with it in person; selecting destinations from the map is not a thing in this game.

Practical habit from IGN: every zone holds more than one door, so scout the area as much as possible and unlock doors before continuing quests. Doors unlocked while wandering also feed Zone Level, which pays out the points on the best talents page.

How Many Fast Travel Doors Are There?

32 across the whole map, per PowerPyx's tracker — all of them listed on the Fast Travel Doors collectible page. They appear on the map automatically as players approach — no side quests, no items required, just proximity. For hunting the full set, interactive checklists (PowerPyx, MapMaster) mirror the in-game map; for just playing through, unlocking every door passed costs seconds and saves minutes for the rest of the run — see how-long-to-beat for what those minutes add up to.
