FAQ
Is it on Game Pass at launch? Not confirmed. The only evidence ever surfaced was an Xbox UK Instagram post that appeared and was then quickly deleted — with no follow-up from Microsoft or Remedy.
Is it coming to Game Pass later? Unknown. Remedy's official platform list names PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Steam, the Epic Games Store, and GeForce NOW — no subscription service is mentioned. A future addition would be announced separately.
Is CONTROL Resonant on Game Pass?
Not confirmed. As of launch, there is no official day-one Game Pass release — Remedy's platform list covers the five platforms, and no subscription service is named. The rumor's origin: Xbox UK posted — then quickly deleted — an Instagram video apparently listing the game as day-one on Game Pass. Multiple outlets covered the deleted post (Beebom, ChainPlay, among others), but neither Microsoft nor Remedy confirmed it. One deleted social post is not a catalog entry — if you're deciding between waiting on Game Pass and buying, assume the purchase.
How to Check Whether It Ever Lands on Game Pass
The ground truth is the Xbox Game Pass catalog on your console or in the Xbox app. If the game appears there — day one or later — it's real. Everything else (deleted Instagram posts, forum screenshots) is just a leak. This page will be updated if an official announcement lands.
What Xbox Players Get Instead Today
A regular purchase with friendly terms: Smart Delivery covers Series X and S in one buy, and Xbox Play Anywhere bundles the Windows PC (Xbox app) version with shared progress. The pre-order bonus items attach the same as everywhere else. If Game Pass is the only route you'd take, waiting costs nothing but time — but don't skip launch on a leak's promise. See the Xbox edition guide for the full picture.
