Overview
The Unknown is the endgame zone — and it is gated twice. Sever the Hedron Links requires the Pope's Research side quest just to enter the zone, making Pope's Research one of the most important side quests in the game.

- Patterned Evac Building & Patterned Field Office — Sever the Hedron Links sends Dylan across the map cutting Hedron links at locations like these, each guarded by waves running Hedron Factor mechanics.
- Construction site & shop — Freeze Frame cameras #13 (behind a hole in blue mold; defeat the mold ambush) and #14 (inside a shop; use the red garage-door button) hide here.
Resonant
The final zone Resonant — The Co-Director or The Physicist — guards The Unknown, before the story pivots fully to the Hedron endgame: The Hedron Link, Sever the Hedron Links, Fight the Core, The End.
Route advice
Last on the recommended route. Update 1.4.0 reduced combat density here — a quality-of-life nod for repeat visits. Finish Pope's Research before pushing the endgame, or the gate will stop you cold.
