Walkthrough step-by-step

Enemy of My Enemy is the sixth main mission in the Contain the Crisis questline. The CFD is almost complete, but the tremors at the Evac Site keep getting worse and time is running out. Before the quest is given, you must complete both Power Lines and Into the Sinkhole, and defeat both the Central Zone Resonant and the West Incursion Zone Resonant bosses.

1. Meet Pope in the Field Office

Once the quest is received, return to the Field Office in Central and speak with Pope.

2. Report to Arish at the CFD Platform

After speaking with Pope, go back to the CFD Platform at the Sinkhole in the Evacuation Zone and speak with Arish.

3. Reach the Front and Defend the CFD

After speaking with Arish, a large number of Hiss spawns in the street below — jump down and deal with the waves as they appear.

4. Defend the CFD at the Blockade

After the first enemy group, you are teleported farther away from the CFD — run back and keep fighting the enemies as they appear.

5. Retreat to the CFD Platform

After the next wave, you are told to go back up to the platform.

6. Activate the CFD

On the platform, go to the back corner and interact with the switch to activate the CFD.

7. Follow the CFD and Use the Switch

After the scene you are in a new area — follow the CFD down the tunnel area appearing in front of you, shifting gravity to switch walls to progress. At the first group of Hiss you may skip them; jump to the walls with the HVAC machines and use them to reach the hole in the center. At the large square street area there are more enemies; destroy the 3 Hiss orbs that appear on three of the walls (other enemies can be ignored). After destroying all three, jump to the platforms in the middle of the area, then use them to reach the now-open hole in the wall. Keep following the path to the CFD; at the end you reach the switch.

8. Destroy the CFD

The switch will not work and you are thrown backward down the path — run forward again and press L3 when close enough to destroy the CFD. After the next scene you appear back in the Oldest House, completing the mission.
