September 27, 2023 Counter-Strike 2 launch update
Training Day is the brief introductory experience added with the September 27, 2023 CS2 launch for brand-new players. It gives a first-time player a guided starting point before entering the game’s full menu of objective modes, matchmaking queues and practice options. Its stated purpose is onboarding; it is not a ranked mode, a new weapon class or a substitute for learning a specific competitive map.
A new player can use the introduction to become familiar with the initial CS2 experience, then continue in Practice or a chosen queue. The patch does not enumerate lesson steps or promise that the experience covers every current mechanic. Because menus and tutorial content can be revised, treat the launch description as dated and use the installed client for current onboarding. See Practice, Competitive and Premier.
