Overview
The old tales insist the present age is but a pale shadow of what came before — an era called the Golden Age. While the living now fight merely to survive, the heroes of old banqueted with the gods, wed them and fathered their children. They waged splendid wars on giants and demons — perhaps, in some cases, ancient vrakhiri — and had no difficulty destroying such beasts.
Scarcely anything endures of that world — chiefly the crumbling ruins of old tombs and temples. The few bold enough to descend into them dream of gold, jewels and treasure… but mostly they find death, vanishing without a trace. Do they simply lose themselves in the ancient labyrinths? Or does something else hunt them down there?
