Vale Sangora holds many riches, some — like silver — buried deep below. That precious metal first lured settlers to the remote valley and became the foundation Svartrau was built on.
For centuries the valley lived by mining, until two years ago changed everything: silver counting among the rare substances that can sap a vrakhir's strength, Brencis commanded every mine shut. The miners turned farmers, with few complaints — hardly any labor is harsher than mining.
The silver still lies down there, ready to be turned upon Brencis and his court.
