Overview
Coen spends days human and nights as a vrakhir, and the halves are uneven. At night he moves faster, strikes harder, and reaches paths the day form can't access. Power like that has a price: Corruption.
Feeding drives Corruption upward — through Voracious Bite, which heals him, and through thirst slaked on animals, humans, and monsters alike. Higher readings bring a growing danger of losing control.
And Corruption is what unlocks the tree
That trade-off anchors every night build: rising Corruption unlocks Vampiric Abilities, so the meter that endangers you is the very one that empowers you. Every powerful night build runs Corruption high.
Shadowstep, Planeshift, Focus, Piercing Shriek, and Charge all lie along that path. Planeshift especially rewrites the map, since a wall ceases to count as a boundary.
The day form is not a punishment
Witchcraft functions only by day, and it's no runner-up prize. With Compel Soul you can interrogate the dead — a serious investigative asset where the dead are this numerous. Mercurial Fervour both dilates time and works as daytime transport. Hexes draw on health instead of any mana bar, so they stay a genuine trade-off whatever your Corruption level.
Only Swordmastery functions across both forms, so nearly every build relies on it no matter the day-night balance.
