Activation Charges are spent to use Active Abilities and Weapon and Claw Arts. They regenerate over time on their own, and landing successful attacks and blocks speeds up the recharge.
You begin the journey with a single Activation Charge, but learning the Sustained Focus perk in the Character panel raises the maximum to 4.
