An Expeditioner's Journal

The explorer found three burial sites with differing funeral practices but one common trait: every body wore a distinctive bird-shaped mask.

He wonders whether the masks were meant to scare off graverobbers — his first thought, remembering his own fright at the first mask-wearing corpse — or whether they reflect a myth of gods transforming their faithful fallen warriors into nightingales, the community wishing their champions' souls free.

Two possible reasons, one spiritual and one worldly and practical; which is correct, he may never know.

Drop odds are derived from the game files and assume a fresh roll; pity bonuses and duplicate protection shift them as you play, so treat every figure as an estimate.
