Call to Revolt

The scribe, wielding truth as his only weapon against tyranny, denounces Skender Dragosti: a tyrant who treats his God-ordained right to rule not as sacred duty but as permission to oppress, caring nothing whether the people starve or break under endless toil while his strongboxes brim with silver and his table bends with food taken from their families.

He knows the memory of Shrike's Crag looms over all — none want to suffer those victims' lot, suffocated in their own gore ten years past — but insists they must act: Vale Sangora is their home, and their work may yet secure plenty for their children. The excerpt breaks off there.
