Instructions to Look for Help
This note is written out of desperation: the writer admits the fight cannot be won alone — the vrakhiri are too powerful and sway too many loyalties. Help must be sought outside the valley.
The reader is told to take Alexandru and Dimitrie — trustworthy, smart lads — along with a pouch of money left with the note; then buy off the guards and flee, through the mountains or hidden in a merchant cart leaving the valley.
Once outside, they must tell people what is happening in the valley — someone will surely offer aid. The writer will be praying for them and awaiting their return.
