Ritual Instructions

This quest scroll from Vera covers the ritual's last stage. Once the tincture is ready it keeps safely for days,

of no interest to animals — with one proviso: the salamander skins go in immediately before the ritual starts.

For the draught to permeate all of the drinker's blood, one full bowl must go down; less will still harm

but not suffice. It is taken in two portions: the first ahead of the ritual, to begin the blood binding,

then the ritual itself opens as the pillars are lit with the hex Breach the Veil, amid spoken incantations

in an old tongue. Once all burn, the subject drinks the remaining half.
