Second Letter from Rozalia

Writing to Ambrus, Rozalia confesses she scarcely knows why she takes up the quill,

now that she has learned what befell him. She is furious and heartsick at his recklessness

in defying Knyaz Skender himself — ever too bold, too brave for his own good.

She loved that boldness yet always feared it would undo him; she was right.
