Soggy Note

Read and reread many times, this note brutally rejects an unwanted suitor: not interested,

so cease leaving flowers on the doorstep, sending poems, making puppy eyes —

it will never happen, and nothing could change that mind. Anticipating further pestering,

the writer sets a mocking task instead: bring forty pelts of wolf. Good luck — may that take an age.
