A Warning
Doctor Simeon writes that Vicho has finally slipped beyond restraint,
his hunger no longer held in check despite earlier warnings that rats and pigs would one day stop sufficing.
Vicho has killed Eli the jeweller and his wife; Simeon's attempt to warn the couple of his true nature came too late.
He judges Vicho most dangerous precisely because he seems in control most of the time
and could snap without warning.
His advice is blunt: on sighting Vicho, run — do not speak to him or try to help,
and consider leaving the farm for a few days for the family's sake.
Simeon himself is going into hiding and asks not to be contacted.
