Overview

A Perfect Martyr begins with a large French army but no settled economy. The safest route is to secure a base, preserve the French Flag Cart, and choose when to break through the English defenses around Castillon.

Plan and execution

Collect Richemont and La Hire’s force to the southeast, then meet Jean Bureau’s artillery to the west. Use the army to secure Burgundy’s northern military position and southern economy, which provides room to establish production and replace losses. Keep the Flag Cart behind the main force while clearing a corridor toward the marked area inside the English base. Use the artillery and siege to remove key defenses, screen the Cart with cavalry and infantry, and move it forward only after the route is open.

Risks and adaptation

The Cart’s loss ends the mission, so do not use it to scout or lead an assault. The English defenses combine Keeps, Bombard Towers, Elite Longbowmen, and Cavaliers; attacking several fortified positions at once can exhaust the starting army. If the enemy economy and production are eliminated, that offers another victory route, but protect the Cart until the game confirms success.
