Gold Rush Wolf Rush

On Gold Rush, aggressive animals around the central desert can sometimes be redirected toward an opponent to disrupt workers while opening a route for your own miners. This is a risky surprise, not a standard opening.

Overview

On Gold Rush, aggressive animals around the central desert can sometimes be redirected toward an opponent to disrupt workers while opening a route for your own miners. This is a risky surprise, not a standard opening.

Plan and execution

Scout the central area and mark safe animal paths before moving any toward the enemy. Use a small group of Villagers or military units to lead wolves away from the gold approaches, then return the main army to contest a deposit while the opponent responds. Treat the lure as a diversion that buys access to the center, not as a replacement for mining or normal production.

Risks and adaptation

Animals may die, turn aside, or reach defenses without disrupting the economy. Do not sacrifice several units trying to force the route, and do not send miners into the center until the approach is safe. If the opponent walls or guards the path, switch to ordinary map control.
