GUIDE · CIVILIZATION SYSTEM
Team bonus
A civilization-specific benefit that also helps its allies in team games.

Overview
A civilization-specific benefit that also helps its allies in team games.
Who receives the effect
A team bonus is supplied by a civilization to its allied players as well as itself, when the game mode uses teams. Read the exact civilization entry to see the target: it may affect a building, unit line, research, or economic action. The bonus is useful only to allies who actually use that target.
Planning a team composition
Discuss army roles and openings with teammates before judging a bonus. A faster production building may help an ally field its core units; a naval benefit matters much less on a land-only map. Check whether the bonus arrives early enough to affect the shared plan and whether another civilization can cover the team’s weak matchup. Do not choose an ally solely for one small effect while leaving the army composition unable to answer the opponent.
