Overview
The third and final mission in the Search for Jesse questline. A tenuous vision of Jesse is leading Dylan toward an island where the Patterned orange pipes in the Underpass converge — maybe she can still be found. The mission starts when you enter the Underpass and inspect the island of orange pipes on the area's west side, and it must be completed before the main mission The House in Distress can be finished, since all Fault Rituals are required for that main quest.
Objectives
- Investigate the Vision of Jesse on the Island of Orange Pipes
- Enter the Fault
- Find Jesse and Talk to Her
- Guide the Light-Projected Children
- Reunite Young Dylan and Jesse
- Help Jesse Complete the Ritual
Walkthrough
Investigate the Vision of Jesse on the Island of Orange Pipes
Go to the Tubes Island marked on the map within the search area. The easiest approach is from The Spire, using the Reach Points along the islands to grapple across — this requires the Reach ability from Jesse Sightings: The Subway Fault. Activate the Fault fast travel door before jumping up to the island's main platform. On top, defeat the Mold enemy group. Then go around the island's back (west side) to a gap that leads inside the island. Inside, defeat the next Mold groups, then follow the path into the white-lit room leading south.
Enter the Fault
Jump across the gaps and interact with the TV to enter the Fault.
Find Jesse and Talk to Her
Follow the path ahead, chasing the orange shadows. On the platform with the objects, inspect the shadows displayed on the right side, then the left side, then the middle. Jump across to the platform ahead and keep chasing the orange shadow; at the next dead end, inspect the wall in front of you. After the memory finishes, jump into the hole in the wall to continue.
Guide the Light-Projected Children
Keep following the path with the lights projected on the wall — take the path leading around to the left instead of jumping across to the shadows of the two children. Interact with the wall, then follow the path after the memory finishes. The recurring goal in the remaining areas: follow the walls where people's outlines appear as "light", and guide them back to the shadows on the wall.
Reunite Young Dylan and Jesse
Keep following the path. In the first area, take the path around to the right to lead the shadow down to the dead end, then use the Reach Point to grapple back above; jump across to the upper platform to continue and lead the Dylan shadow to the middle. Continue ahead to the Jesse shadow: jump to it on the bottom right, lead it to the dead end with the path above it, then Shift to the wall on the left to walk over and lead it to the area's center. After the floor disappears, follow the path forward to find Jesse.
Help Jesse Complete the Ritual
Interact with the wall ahead, then jump into the hole in the wall. Keep following the path to the end and interact with the TV, then interact with Jesse to complete the mission.
