Map identity and setting
Edin is classified as a Bomb Defusal community map. Its setting is Scotland, and the map’s identifier is de_edin. The design credits Slimek, Peake and KlixX. These details distinguish Edin in the record of community maps that entered CS2’s rotating selection.
The map’s custom environmental assets use the label “props_edinburgh,” linking its files and visual setting with Edinburgh. Graffiti placed around the level refer to the creators. These environmental details add local identity and authorship clues for players familiar with the map; they do not change the standard bomb scenario or introduce special equipment.
Environmental references
A shop named Mark and Co. is one of the map’s notable environmental landmarks. The name references streamer Mark “ohnePixel” Zimmermann, and the nearby “Gold Gold Gold” lettering refers to one of his well-known phrases. These are map-world references embedded in the environment rather than objectives, callouts or purchasable locations.
The source record identifies these references but does not provide a full room-by-room location guide or named tactical route. This entry therefore treats them as setting details rather than inventing site approaches or player callouts. The map’s visual references can help distinguish Edin from other community entries even though they have no mechanical effect.
Bomb Defusal context
Edin uses the standard Bomb Defusal scenario. The Terrorist side attempts to plant and detonate the C4 at a bomb site, while Counter-Terrorists try to prevent the plant, eliminate the opposing team or defuse the bomb after it is planted. The map’s Scottish theme and creator references do not modify those round rules. See Bomb Defusal for the mode’s win conditions and related equipment.
Because Edin is a community map, its addition did not make it a permanent part of every CS2 playlist. A map can support Bomb Defusal and still leave a queue’s selection later. Mode classification, historical map presence and current rotation are separate pieces of information.
CS2 availability history
Edin entered CS2 on November 13, 2024 and was removed from the game’s map selection on May 7, 2025. It should therefore be treated as a historical CS2 map rather than described as currently selectable in official queues. Removal from selection is a map-pool status; it does not erase the map’s place in CS2’s community-map history.
The dates also provide version context for references to Edin in older match or update records. Current playlist information can change independently for other maps. See Map Rotations and Community Maps to distinguish dated selection changes from a map’s scenario and creator record.
