Model & identity

The Falchion Knife is one of the knife models in the CS2 inventory. A curved knife model with a distinctive forward-weighted blade profile. Its asymmetrical silhouette and model-specific inspect presentation differentiate it from straighter knife types. Finishes customize the model’s surfaces. The player sees the selected model when holding and inspecting the knife; other players can also see its equipped appearance in match situations where the model is visible.

The knife type and the weapon finish are separate parts of the item. A knife model determines the blade and handle form, while an eligible finish determines the surface pattern or color. A finish does not convert the knife into a different model, and a visually rare finish does not improve its performance.

Role in a match

The Falchion Knife occupies the melee weapon slot and provides the standard knife actions available in CS2. Players may switch to it when they need a melee option or when moving without a firearm is appropriate under the game’s movement rules. It has no unique tactical ability tied to this cosmetic model. The player must still consider nearby opponents and choose whether to keep a firearm ready.

Knife attacks are close-range actions and expose the user if an opponent has a gun ready. The equipped model does not replace positioning, movement or a team’s objective. The Stock Knife explains the default equipment; this entry describes the selected visual variant.

Finishes & inventory

Compatible finishes can change the Falchion Knife’s visible blade or handle surfaces. The exact finish pool depends on item and container releases, so availability should be documented with the relevant CS2 Weapon Cases, Collections or update entry rather than assumed from the knife’s name.

The knife can be inspected and equipped through the CS2 inventory and loadout interface. An inspect animation presents the model but does not change its match statistics. A weapon finish or knife model is part of item customization and does not affect the AK-47, M4A4 or other firearms in the player’s inventory.

CS2 applicability

This entry covers the Falchion Knife model in Counter-Strike 2. Its current cosmetic availability depends on the item pool and updates; no market price or case drop is treated as permanent. The visual profile described here identifies the model and separates it from the shared melee role.

Curved clip point and inspect animations

The Falchion Knife is a modern homage to a falchion sword. Its defining form is a clip-point blade with a curved cutting edge, so its outline differs from the hooked Karambit and straight Bayonet. The Wiki identifies its visual reference as the Espada (Large) by Cold Steel. This is a cosmetic knife model: the blade shape does not extend melee range or create an alternate attack. It uses the shared Stock Knife slash and stab behavior in Counter-Strike 2.

The Falchion has two inspect animations. Its standard inspect spins the knife across the player’s palm before presenting it; a rarer sequence balances it vertically on the hand for a short time. These are presentation variants, not combat stances. The Wiki notes a historical faster deployment time that was corrected on April 20, 2017; that earlier timing should not be treated as a CS2 advantage.

Item history and finish families

The Falchion Knife entered the inventory with the May 27, 2015 Operation Bloodhound update. The item gallery records original finishes, Chroma finishes in the Spectrum case family, and Gamma finishes associated with the Operation Riptide Case. These are item-pool history and explain why the same model appears with different finish families; they do not establish current container availability. The knife is a Rare Special item and can be equipped through the CS2 loadout.

A compatible Weapon Skin changes the finish while preserving the curved clip-point model and shared combat rules. Wear and Pattern Index describe appearance condition and pattern layout. The Falchion is useful to distinguish in an inventory by its broad curved blade and unusual palm-spin inspect; compare it with the Kukri Knife for a forward-curving outline, the Flip Knife for a folding profile, and the Stock Knife for the default model.

Deploy and quick-inspect animations (August 14, 2025)

On August 14, 2025, Counter-Strike 2 improved deploy and quick-inspect animations for all knives. The patch describes a shared animation update across the knife category; it does not identify a unique pose, timing value or motion change for this individual model. The change concerns how a knife is drawn and quickly inspected in first person, rather than its attack damage, reach, movement speed or cosmetic finish. The same update separately modified the Sawed-Off and several named firearms, whose animation changes are documented on their own pages.
