Role & availability
Terrorists can purchase the SG 553 from the Rifles category. It is a scoped choice in the side’s rifle selection and has different handling and purchase considerations from the AK-47 and Galil AR. As with other firearms, either team can pick up a dropped SG 553 during a round and use the recovered weapon.
The optic magnifies the view while aiming, which can help inspect a distant lane. Scoping narrows the player’s field of view and should be used with awareness of nearby routes. The weapon remains an automatic rifle: the optic does not remove recoil or make every shot accurate while moving.
Aiming & fire control
The SG 553 can fire automatically and can be used through its scope when greater visual magnification is useful. Sustained fire produces recoil, so short controlled bursts help when trying to place shots at a distance. At close range, the player may prefer the unscoped view and a faster reaction to nearby opponents.
A scoped player should communicate the lane they are covering. Teammates can watch a secondary route or provide utility so the shooter is not surprised from the side. Move between firing positions with cover, since remaining in one visible angle gives opponents time to adapt or throw a grenade.
When it fits a buy
The SG 553 can suit a Terrorist player who wants an optic for a particular long sightline or defensive setup. Its purchase should be considered against the team’s money and the utility needed to cross exposed space. If the team cannot equip all players equally, plan who will carry the rifle and how teammates will support its angle.
The AK-47 provides the common unscoped rifle choice, while the Galil AR is a lower-cost rifle option. A Smoke Grenade can obstruct an opposing sightline; the Flashbang can support a peek. The Buy Menu and Economy explain how to coordinate the purchase.
CS2 applicability
This page covers the SG 553 as a Counter-Strike 2 scoped Terrorist rifle. Earlier-game values and rules are not treated as current CS2 specifications. Exact numeric details require a dated CS2 source audit.
