Overview
Each vrakhir owes their turning to a sire. For Brencis, that was Isbrand.
After long years of living in peace, the pair drifted apart. But Brencis did not merely defy his sire — he went much further. Having beaten Isbrand, he flung him down into a mountain cavern, where a band of kobolds discovered him. They preserved his life — not from kindness. They treat him as an inexhaustible larder: gorging on him, waiting for him to knit himself back together, then gorging again, in a ghastly cycle without end.
Coen aided Lacra in locating Isbrand, though he fears the old vrakhir is past rescue. No doubt Isbrand wishes he could turn back time and never have let Brencis live… but what is done is done.
