Answer from Lunka about Brencis
Lunka is overjoyed that Coen is alive after dreaming that Brencis cut his head off — though Mirto says Brencis would sooner devour him like the others.
She reports that Brencis takes a prisoner from the cells every day, who never returns; they go downstairs somewhere unknown, everyone is afraid, and sometimes the floor seems to thump like a beating heart and grow warm — which Mirto dismisses as her imagination.
