Blood Covenant: On the Sin of Wrath

Florin likens the Lord's testing of the faithful to a smith striking a fresh-forged sword to hear whether it chimes sound or splits; only thus shall He discern the deserving of deliverance.

Many fail the test and raise clenched fists to Heaven, refusing the lot assigned them — and thus arises the vilest transgression, wrath.

All who defy the vrakhiri dominion in thought, word or arms share its guilt, and punishment awaits them in this world and the next: seized, tormented, drained, their hollow shells exhibited. The excerpt breaks off there.
